Training Intensity
Most people spend their lives trying to avoid intensity, whether it shows up as conflict, uncertainty, emotional discomfort, pressure, challenge or anxiety. Yet the very experiences we resist are most often the ones that create the opportunity for the greatest growth.
In this session, Dean shares what 17 years of designing over 5,000 transformational fitness and breathwork experiences has taught him about human development, resilience, leadership, and personal transformation. Drawing from his own personal development journey, as well as his work as Co-Founder of CORE40 and founder of Peak-End Fitness Coaching, he shows why INTENSITY is not something to resist or escape, but a capacity to train.
Through stories from entrepreneurship, fitness, relationships, coaching, and personal growth, Dean demonstrates how people build confidence, self-trust, and emotional intelligence by learning to stay present and focused when life becomes uncomfortable. He shares the story of how the most intense self-doubt and self-hatred was transformed into his greatest gift at A-Fest Dominican Republic 2015.
Attendees learned a simple framework for meeting pressure without shutting down, avoiding, or reacting, and why the moments when we want to quit are often the moments that shape us the most. Coaches in the audience learned the necessity of adding this intensity framework into their programs to facilitate identity shifts in their clients.
The world is becoming more intense. The next level of human development is learning how to stay present, focused and thrive within the intensity.
